Oil Mist Collectors

Centrifugal (Mechanical) Mist Collectors

  • Working Principle: Use a rotating impeller to create centrifugal force that throws oil mist droplets out of the air.
  • Filtration Level: Coarse to medium.
  • Pros:
    • Low maintenance.
    • Compact design.
    • Good for large droplets.
  • Cons:
    • Less effective on submicron particles.
  • Best For: General machining (e.g. CNC turning centers and machining centers).

Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP)

  • Working Principle: Ionizes particles with a high-voltage field and collects them on oppositely charged plates.
  • Filtration Level: Very fine mist and smoke (<1 micron).
  • Pros:
    • High filtration efficiency.
    • Reusable filters.
  • Cons:
    • Needs regular cleaning.
    • Sensitive to moisture or conductive mist.
  • Best For: EDM, grinding, fine mist or smoke environments.
